Pottery Classes



Children's Hand Building Class- Sunday from Noon to 1:30pm. This class holds up to five students. This class has two age groups ages 6 to 12 and ages 12 to 16. If siblings would like to join the same class please contact the studio as the studio has to address safety concerns for certain ages. Each class period is one hour and thirty minutes and will  have a suggestion project. Students will have a suggested project per class but students are encouraged to make each project uniquely theirs.  Classes are sold in eight class sets. Students must attend eight classes consequtively.  Each class is once a week on the day that students sign up for. No refund will be given for students who miss class. If you are not going to be able to attend class you must give the studio notice and we may be able to find another student to fill our class.  The price of the class includes all supplies such as clay, glaze, and the firing of all projects made in class.  Please keep in mind that not all projects survive in the kiln, we will try to repair projects but this does not constitute a refund of tuition. Students will be given the opportunity to remake a project during spare class time.







Open Studio Time- $15 hourly Open studio time is a time for students to come in and use the pottery wheels. Students who use the pottery wheels for open studio time must take at least two lessons with the studio before hand. This is not an instructed class, this is for students who know the studio to come practice the skill that they have learned. Open studio is $15 an hour. Students who make items during open studio are expected to be self sufficient. They must cover their pottery and return to trim it, instructors will not trim your projects for you unless you are taking a class. Open studio is $15 an hour  including supplies, if student are using an unreasonable amount of supplies they will be charged for those supplies.  Students who use open studio are expected to clean their space and all tools when they are finished. If you see no open studio times available please email us or give us a call.  You must have appointment for any time spent in the time.  Open studio visits are a minimum of one hour.  If you would like to book two spots you will have to sign up for each hour separately. Open studio time for pottery is on Sunday from Noon to 2pm. If you need another day or time we may have room available while our classes are working. 






Parent and Child Hand Building Classes- $175.00 for four one hour visits for both parents and children to create a hand built work of art.  This class is given at a discounted children's rate and includes all supplies up to an allotted amount.  This class is for ages six and up. Students can register for classes making projects such as tooth brush holders, piggy banks, ornaments, and picture frames. One child and their legal guardian must attend class. Students will return one to two weeks later. Upon first visit students will pick up a punch card with eight one hour sessions. Punch Cards expire six months after your first visit. This card can be used by different parent but must be the same child.  Projects will not be held for more than thirty days between firings. Please let us know if you have any questions. When bringing in your young students please be mindful that other parts of the studio contain sharp tools as well as tools we will be using in class please keep an eye on your students. These classes are held on Monday and Tuesday nights from either 5pm to 6pm or from 6pm to 7pm.  These classes hold up to five student pairs. 






Wheel Thrown Pottery Workshop- $225 This workshop is eight one and a half hour classes. Students will have to come in to the studio for a lesson at least once a week to retain the skills they have learned and to work on their pottery before their pieces dry out.  Students will be taught to throw a bowl to start with. They will then learn to trim their bowls on the wheel. They will next work on cylinders and the trimming of their cylinders. Depending on how students progress they will also be taught to add handles and texture their pieces. Students will make eight to ten pieces depending on how they use their time and supplies.  Students will receive a punch card, the punch card must be used within six months of your first visit. If you purchase this class online and do not come in for the first visit within thirty days we will automatically start your punch card. This is for ages sixteen and up. If you have any questions please let us know. These classes are Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:00pm to 7:30pm. You can sign up on our online scheduler, if you see a date and no times are listed it means that the class if full. If you can't find a class please call the studio.
